Michael J. Goede has served as Director of Choral Programs at Kettle
Moraine Lutheran High School since 2003. After graduating from
Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1998, he began his undergraduate
studies at
Valparaiso University. While at Valpo, he studied
piano with Joseph Bognar, conducting with Jeff Doebler and Christopher
Cock, accompanied student recitals, and was an active member of the VU
choirs. He was blessed to be the recipient of 2003 Outstanding
Musician by the Music Department and 2003 Dean's Distinguished Student
for the College of Arts and Sciences. He graduated summa cum
laude in 2003 with majors in English, Music Education, and
Secondary Education and a minor in Humanities through his work in
Christ College, the
Honors College.
Since beginning his
ministry at KML, Mike has been a guest director for the 2005
Wisconsin Lutheran High School Junior Choir Festival, the 2005
National WELS Worship Conference, and the 2005 Area Lutheran High
School opening service. He is a member of ACDA and WCDA.
He was recently awarded the prestigious Kohl Fellowship, which
recognizes excellence in teaching and the ability to inspire
lifelong learning. Mike
will serve as a guest clinician at the 2007 Junior Choir Festival in
Yakima, Washington, and the 2007 National WELS Choral
Festival as well as be the guest director for the National High School Honors
Choir at the 2008 WELS National Worship Convention. Under his
direction, the Concert Choir has been featured on three recordings
and recently was selected to perform at the 2008 Wisconsin Choral
Directors Association State Convention.
Mike also
teaches in the English Department at KML, assists in leading worship
for the daily chapel services, and coaches track and field. When
not at KML, he enjoys playing piano for local worship activities,
training for an upcoming marathon, and participating in nearly all
forms of athletics.
