Mr. Timothy
Kuehl was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 31, 1966. He attended
St. Mark Lutheran Grade School in Brown Deer, WI until 1980. He
then went to Wisconsin Lutheran High School from 1980 to 1984.
While at Wisco he participated in Cross Country, Track, the Math Team,
and Shepherd's Club.
After high school, Mr. Kuehl studied to become a teacher at Dr. Martin
Luther College and graduated in 1988. While at DMLC, Mr. Kuehl and
some friends brought Cross Country back to DMLC. The team went on
to win the Conference and NLCAA sectional championship. Mr. Kuehl
also helped kick-off the use of the new television studio at DMLC,
producing a number of class presentations and DMLC sporting events for
airing on the local cable station. |

After graduating from DMLC in 1988, Mr. Kuehl
took an emergency call to teach math and science at California Lutheran High
School (then in Garden Grove, CA). After serving the one-year call,
Mr. Kuehl continued his studies in education at Wisconsin Lutheran College
in Milwaukee, WI. While there as a student, he also taught Pre-College
Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Linear Algebra as an adjunct
faculty member. After student teaching at Vincent High School in
Milwaukee, Mr. Kuehl received the WI State Certification to teach
mathematics in grades 6-12 in 1990. |

Mr. Kuehl then went on to work on his
Master's Degree at UW-Milwaukee. While there, he continued to teach at
WLC occasionally. He also became a research assistant on the
Integrating Technology into Math and Science Education (ITME) Project.
The other research assistant on the project, Barbara Wedemayer (BJ) became
Mr. Kuehl's wife on June 11, 1994 in a medieval wedding ceremony at Grace
Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. Mr. Kuehl received his Master's in
Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics in May, 1994. |

Mr. Kuehl accepted the Call to teach at
Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in the summer of 1993. His various
duties include being the Math Department Chairman, Bookstore Manager, and
the Cross Country and Math Team coach. He is a member of the National
Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Wisconsin Mathematics Council, and
the Milwaukee Area Mathematics Council. He has been on the board of
MAMC since 1993 and serves as President and Treasurer. He also assists
with MAMC's Ninth Grade Math Meet each year. |

Mr. Kuehl is an avid letterboxer. He
has been letterboxing for just over two years and has found nearly 600
letterboxes and placed nearly 100 boxes. To the left is a picture of
Mr. Kuehl, known as "The Dragon" to fellow letterboxers, at his 200th find
on a trip throughout Michigan in the summer of 2003. If you have Mr.
Kuehl for a math class, you will no doubt need to go letterboxing to
complete a project. Honors Algebra and Honors Advanced Algebra
students get to find and even create some of the
Mathman letterboxes. PreCalculus and Trigonometry students need to
find the
Triangles! Triangles! Everywhere! Series of boxes. You can read
