Following a beautiful and motivating worship service in the gym, nearly 400 people gathered outside to view the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Performing Arts Center and fine arts addition. Pastor Swenson, from St. Lucas, Kewaskum, offered a prayer asking for God's blessings on the project. After the prayer, various leaders took the opportunity to break ground with the customized shovel for this project. Each of the six participants held ceremonial shovels that represented the current and previous KML building projects. Those shovels provided a positive reminder of God's blessings on KML over the past 38 years. The groundbreaking participants were:
- Mr. Jody Hansen – KML Business Manager and representative of KML staff
- Miss Abigail Hoerchner – KML Student Body President
- Mr. Pete Aisbet – KML Board of Directors Chairman
- Mr. Joshua Schoeneck – KML Instructor and representative of the faculty
- Mr. Nicholas Kent – Plunkett Raysich Architects
- Mr. Matthew Burow – Catalyst Construction and manager for the project
In response, the attendees spontaneously sang the Doxology in praise and thanksgiving to God for His rich blessings on our school and on this new addition. You can. |

On May 2, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School held a special Groundbreaking Service for the new Performing Arts Center and fine arts academic wing. Pastor Swenson from St. Lucas, Kewaskum, served as the liturgist, Pastor Scheuerlein from Calvary, Thiensville, preached the sermon, and Mrs. Deborah Boeldt, 1978 alumna and current instructor, served as organist. The KML Concert Choir, under the direction of Mr. Jonathon Laabs sang a beautiful rendition of "In Christ Alone."
The service was very special as nearly 400 people joined to worship God and thank him for this special opportunity to expand our school.
During the service, the gathering of the stones was held so people could bring their stones to the altar in honor and thanksgiving for this project. The granite stones were given to people who had made a special gift for the building project, and were now brought back at the Groundbreaking service. The stones will be included in the construction of the new PAC, and will serve as a permanent reminder of God's blessings on this project.
was taken during the gathering of the stones. There were more than 120 stones brought forward. It was particularly exciting to see some of the original Founding Fathers bring their stones as they once again led by example as KML moves forward in educating, encouraging and equipping God's people for life and for eternity.

Tuition Rates for 2012-2013 |
|
|
|
|
The KML General Board approved the tuition rates for next year. Federation member tuition is set at $6175 per student which is $190, or approximately 3%, over this past year's rate. This increase is largely due to fixed costs such as health insurance premiums, and the expansion of our learning center which enhances our overall educational program. In keeping with past practice, tuition dollars are not used to pay for building the new PAC, nor to pay for the debt service on our facility. Those costs are covered through the special contributions of congregations and individuals.
The actual cost to educate each student during the 2012-13 school year will be approximately $8,714. Tuition rates cover about 72% of those costs, congregational support covers about 16% and the other 12% is generated through various KML programs and private donations.
We also acknowledge the gifts of private donors, various charitable foundations, and our own KML Foundation for providing $85,000 of tuition assistance for the upcoming year. Thanks to all who have given so generously so our tuition assistance program can offer such significant help. |
